Almost Forgot!

Yesterday was the one year anniversary from the day Devon proposed! In memory of that fabulous day in the life of Whitney Glassman (then Draper), I would like to post a couple pictures.

Here are a few of our engagement pictures we took a couple weeks later.
Devon is pretty much amazing, and I'm pretty much lucky.

Devon's cankle

Devon rolled his ankle in his football game Friday night. It was one of those instant-swell injuries. So now he's got a cankle, not an ankle. Sad day. He won't be able to play again until the tournament starts, maybe even longer. This picture might not be the best angle but it was the only one that didn't have his toes in it. Let's just say he needs a pedicure. Maybe that's my fault.

We dressed up for our ward Halloween party as 80s people (I guess there's not really a fancy name for that). Our friends were 70s people, and Dorothy and Todo. How fun huh!
They announced a competition for the scariest dessert and Devon was determined to win it, so he made these brain aneurysm cup cakes. We didn't win but they tasted bomb and now I'm going to use them as treats for the ladies I visit teach. How precious!

Tag You're It!

I got tagged by my beautiful sister-in-law, Shira! I'm supposed to tell 6 unspectacular quirks about myself and then tag six fellow bloggers.

Apparently I'm much weirder than I thought! Devon was eager to inform me of all my strange quirks. Here are six of them (some aren't necessarily quirks):

1. I have a major problem with feet. I don't like to touch feet, and I don't really like mine touched. I don't like it when people put their feet on my couch (unless they're freshly cleaned), my bed, nor on me. I'm constantly cleaning my feet. I hate having dirty, stinky feet. I usually clean them when I get home from work. And I'll clean them with wipes before I get into bed. Devon says that's quirky; I thought it was normal. . . I've gotten less crazy about feet since I've been married.

2. I don't like white stuff. Mayonaise is nasty, sour cream--ew, horseradish is gross, cottage cheese--blah. . . to most white stuff I say, "No way Jose!"

3. When I want attention from Devon, I pester him kind of like a little sister might. . . poke at his eyes, pinch his nose, tickle his armpits. He eventually gives in and it turns into a wrestling match!

4. I LOVE cereal. I could eat cereal for every meal. Growing up we would BEG my mom to have cereal for dinner (what EASY kids we were, jk Mom!). If I am eating toast and Devon gets a bowl of cereal, I have to have a bowl of cereal too. I sort of have "cereal envy." Since it's not the most nutritious food, I got myself hooked on Kashi--a more healthy choice of cereal.

5. My clothes in my closet are color coordinated and have been since I can remember. I am a little OCD in certain areas. All my coat hangars have to be white, too. It drives me crazy when a wire hangar or different colored plastic hangar sneaks in somehow (Devon?).

6. I am like a lizard as my dad says. I'm freezing cold unless I'm under direct sunlight. My feet and hands are always like ice cubes. This is why I have a hard time with Utah winters! I hate it when it's so cold that all the muscles in my body tense up. I guess you could say I'm a California girl. If it's cooler than 75 degrees, I need a jacket!

Blinds Up!

We got blinds! Devon, my Mr. Fix It, installed blinds upstairs a month ago and now we finally got blinds for the two front windows. Devon put in the side window blinds and then started the installation process for the huge window above the front door only to discover that the custom blinds needed to be about a foot wider. Bummer! He practically risked his life as you can see in the picture. James risked his life helping because Devon dropped the hammer and James caught it right over his head! Ahh! Thank goodness we didn't have to make a visit to the emergency room!

Back in Business

The last three weeks have been so much fun, so fun that I haven't had much time to blog. But now we're back in business! Here are some highlights from the last month of our lives. In mid-September, Jeff and Jenna came out to Salt Lake and we went to a MonaVie party together. We love hanging out with Jeff and Jenna whenenver we can. We are excited to fly to California for their wedding in Palm Springs on November 8. 

One of our favorite shows So You Think You Can Dance came to Salt Lake on tour in September. We went with Nate and Megan Hymas. The show was amazing! We loved it. They are all such talented dancers and entertainers. 

Twitch and Comfort's dance to Chris Brown's song "Forever" was one of our top three favorite dances. They are amazing! I think I want to name one of our daughters Comfort. Just kidding Mom and Dad, but I think she is such a cute girl!

Devon had the opportunity to go to Texas with his company to help with the Hurricane Ike relief efforts. He was gone for six whole days! I missed him a lot, but it was a great experience for him to help the hurricane victims. They had to completely gut homes. Mold was growing everywhere and everything inside was ruined.

Although they put in hours and hours of hard work and service, they had a good time doing "other things" as well (or whatever you want to call five adult males in matching trunks)!

Finally, I discovered a new cereal. It's Barbie cereal and it has marshmallows in it mm mm mmm. It's good in a bowl with milk and it's good straight out of the box!
