Christmas Fun

Here is a quick picture log of our December. You might want to scroll down and start at the bottom because I loaded the pictures in the wrong order, so now it's chronological from the bottom to the top.
By the way, Merry Christmas! We spent the holiday in California with Devon's family. It was so much fun! Devon knew I was sad to be away from my family, so he set up Skype with my dad! It was the best present! We were able to watch each other open presents, so I didn't feel like I was completely missing out on the whole Christmas experience with my family! Devon is so sweet and so thoughtful. I found one of his running shoes in my stocking. I had put "gym/running partner" on my Christmas wish list, so he said he would go on a run with me. I also got a Wii and Wii Fit! It was a great Christmas and fun to be with family.

We had a Christmas dinner and white elephant gift exchange with our friends. Angie and Stefanie got our gifts--a beta and an African Dwarf Frog!

Travel Plans

We leave for California tomorrow evening. I'm a little nervous because it's supposed to start snowing tonight and continue until Wednesday. The weather will be that way clear down to Cedar City. We'll see how long the drive takes us this time... hopefully the freeway doesn't get shut down. We aren't sure if or where we're going to stop along the way, but Devon says we might drive straight through the night. I'm really glad Dick Hess is coming with us. It's going to be a fun trip with his company, and maybe I can get out of driving! :)

Surprise!

James' birthday was Monday December 7. He turned a ripe twenty-six! Kylie planned a super fun surprise party for him. He had no idea. The look on his face after peeking around the corner was priceless! Happy Birthday James! (Oh, and if you're wondering why his face is on our TV, Devon put together a slide show with pictures of James. Devon is so thoughful!)

Intramural Champs

We did it! We won the Division 1 Women's Intramural Soccer Championship!

I've been playing with a lot of the same girls for a few seasons now. Our first season playing together we couldn't get people to show up to the regular season games, so we lost a bunch and were dropped down to the 3rd division. When tournament play came around and we actually got a full team to show up, we won the division! The next season, we won the second division. This year, we only lost one regular season game and it was to the team we ended up beating twice in-a-row to win the championship. We had to beat them twice because it was double elimination and we had already lost once in the tournament. I think we proved ourselves, though. The first game we beat them 4-1.
In the final game, we were tied 2-2 with 5 minutes left. We were able to put one in, just over the keeper's fingertips. With less than a minute left, we scored again and won 4-2.
The T-shirts this year are pretty cool. On the front they say "Intramural Champions 2009" and then it says "The Most Coveted T-Shirt on Campus." On the back it says, "Thou Shalt Not Covet." Anyway, thanks for not rolling your eyes (unless you already did) about how excited and pumped I am to win an INTRAMURAL championship! :)

What is HAPPENING?!

I have to admit, the first snow IS a little exciting.
I definitely prefer it to snow on Sundays so it doesn't affect driving to work or my shopping plans, but I can't complain. It's December and we just barely had our first snow.

Thanksgiving in California

We flew into Long Beach on Thanksgiving day for $74. Thank you Jet Blue and Mark Glassman. I was so excited to see everyone, especially my nephew, Colton! He is the cutest little chunker!
We had an awesome feast at Uncle Andrew and Aunt Shelly's house in Dove Canyon for Thanksgiving dinner. Friday, the girls and Mark got pedicures. Then we all saw New Moon and ate at Lucille's! So tasty. Saturday we helped Devin and Shira move into their new posh pad in Irvine. We sat in the jacuzzi at their luxurious clubhouse and then went to see Blindside--such a good movie! After that we went to Friday's and I ordered my FAVORITE dessert of all time, Brownie Obsession.
Sunday night we had a family dinner and got to see Grandpa Dale and Grandpa Larry, Grandma Sharon and Grandma Beth. It was a lot of fun and a great break from the cold Utah weather.
Here are some of the people and things I'm really grateful for:
the GOSPEL, DEVON, my FAMILY, church CALLINGS, my TESTIMONY, our JOBS, the ROOF over our heads, FRIENDS, the DISHWASHER, our WASHING MACHINE and DRYER, BLANKETS, HOT chocolate, and the HEATER.

Today I went to work and no one was there. Apparently we have the day off. I think I should pay better attention at work! I had a good laugh... at myself!
