Eating Healthy

So I really want to start eating healthy. . . today I've had two small bowls of cereal, a bag of Doritos Cheese Mix and a bag of chocolate chip cookies (Jet Blue serves these). I think I'll start tomorrow.

PS Why do I feel MORE hungry when I eat apples and carrots?

Devon's First

Devon got his first acceptance letter to law school! I'm so proud of him. Miami is officially on the list... and it just so happens my best friend lives in Florida... hmm...

Salt Lake Layover

Grandma and Grandpa Brock came into town over the weekend. They were headed back to NC from Hawaii and had a 3 day layover in SLC. I met up with them on Monday and we went to Ihop, the Distribution Center, Costco, mine and Devon's indoor soccer game, and Brick Oven. Grandma kept calling it Heaps of Pizza, really dating herself. They are a crack up together. Grandpa was telling her that she doesn't need another temple dress and she replied, "Don't tell me what I don't need honey." And that was that. Grandma has a new dress. Grandpa got a new white suit for the temple and figuring out his correct size was a riot! He kept saying, "But I'm gonna lose weight!" It was quite a fun day. I'm really missing everyone back in North Carolina! Love you all!

The Green Room

The Green Room, formerly known as The Lounge, has been the venue of many-a-party in Provo, Utah. It was, yet again, on Halloween night. I must say it was the most fun I've had in a LONG TIME. Devon and I love dancing and we got to do a lot of it last night. Angie, the Rodeo Queen, was a fabulous hostess. There were games, a scariest dessert competition, and a costume competition... which leads me to my next topic--our costume.
Devon had the brilliant idea that he should be the Thigh Master and I should be Suzanne Somers. I refused until the night before. Devon made his costume out of pool noodles we got from my cousin Stephanie. When we were at her house describing Devon's idea, she said, "Oh, Whitney, you can wear one of my leotoards!" This was the first time I actually considered going as Suzanne Somers, because her leotards had capped sleeves. I gave in, so here we are, Thigh Master and Suzanne Somers. We won the "Most Creative Costume" award.James and Kylie were ski instructors. Love it. Nice leg kick, James.Devon's awesome Kitty Litter treat. So funny.

Dairy Keen

Scott and Stef introduced us to Dairy Keen in good ol' Heber, Utah. The hamburger was OK, but it was the best chocolate chip cookie dough shake I've ever had! After Dairy Keen we went to the hot spring there in Heber. Surprisingly, we were the only ones there. It was really fun and so hot I thought I would have blisters. Thankfully Scott found a cooler area of the spring, so we could relax and really enjoy it.

Carving Pumpkins

Last week we went to Cory and Kelsey Sistrunk's house to carve pumpkins and do a little "service project." I say "service project" because we ended up eating the two plates of Halloween treats we brought home to "Boo" our neighbors with. I feel bad the treats didn't make it, but they sure tasted good. Devon and I hadn't carved a pumpkin together yet--technically we still haven't because Devon carved the whole thing. Can you tell what it is?
I love the picture where Brandon is demonstrating proper pumpkin carving technique. Ha.
